It was first day of summer. The longest day of the year and also the hottest. The heat index was over 100 degrees, and somehow, none of it mattered.

Sam and Parker’s barn wedding venue wasn’t just a backdrop. They spent two summers living and working at a resort on the lake during college. The nearby community and people are a 2nd family to them.

The first look brought tears before either of them said a word. and the emotion just kept building through the ceremony and into the reception.

Late in the reception, they slipped away for a quiet moment by the lake with just the two of them.

This is what documentary wedding photography is for. It’s the feeling of your wedding day. The light, the people, the quiet moments between everything else. Candid is not an accident. It just means I’m paying attention.

Planning a Camrose Hill Farm, Dellwood Barn, or Redeemed Farm summer wedding with a similar feel? Get in touch —I'd love to hear about your day.
