August in Minneapolis — the light stays warm until almost nine, the bustle and excitement, the city just feels ready for a wedding.

We started the morning at the Hewing Hotel, where Brittany and her bridesmaids got ready.

Before we crossed the river, we took advantage of the north loop neighborhood and then headed down the street to Mill City Museum for group portraits—brick alleyways, old warehouses, both spaces pair so well with the industrial-chic vibe Brittany and Jason were hoping for.

The ceremony and reception took place at Nicollet Island Pavilion. They said their vows outside, right along the river, with the sun out and a canopy of trees overhead. This wedding reception just had the best energy. The toasts had the whole room laughing, then crying, then laughing again. That same feeling carried straight onto the dance floor, every single guest was out there at some point.
